Check out my recent edition of UPFFONT Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry. It features my interview with actress Maiesha McQueen and playwright and actor Eugene Lee. The two stopped by to chat about his new True Colors Theatre production East Texas Hot Links. The show, which is playing now through August 11, follows a 1950s community that is on edge because of the disappearnce of young black men. Is it the work of the local Ku Klux Klan or someone else? The show was also inspired by The Twilight Zone.
My other segment features film critic Ed Adams from the African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA). He and I talk about the recent Prime Time Emmy Award nominations. Ava DuVernay's epic series When They See Us received 16 nominations including "Outstanding Directing" and "Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series." Other nominees include POSE star Billy Porter, This Is Us actor Sterling K. Brown as well as Niecy Nash, Anthony Anderson, RuPaul and Beyoncé.
UPFRONT Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry airs every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and features the biggest names in TV, film, music, fashion and the performing arts.
