Paramount has released some first look images of Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and budding actress Andra Day as Billie Holiday in the new Lee Daniels' film The United States Vs. Billie Holiday.

The biographical drama premieres on February 21, 2021.

The United States Vs. Billie Holiday follows Lady Day during her career as she is targeted by the Federal Department of Narcotics with an undercover sting operation led by black Federal Agent Jimmy Fletcher, with whom she had a tumultous affair.

The film also stars Trevante Rhodes, Evan Ross, Rob Morgan, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Tyler James Williams, Tone Bell, Miss Lawrence and Dana Gourrier.

Click here to read a recent ESSENCE article written by UPFRONT guest and film critic Ronda Racha Penrice about the film and see more images. In the story, Day opens up about playing her musical idol and the encounter Lee Daniels had with the late jazz icon.
