The Disrupt, an Atlanta University Center (AUC) event takes place April 22 - 23 at the Thomas Cole Research Center located on the campus of Clark Atlanta University (CAU). The Disrupt is open to students and the community. Attendees can learn about innovation and inclusive competitiveness in the working world. The event will feature cutting edge technology demonstrations like 3D printing and drone racing. More information about The Disrupt is available by calling Dr. Bruce Berger, director, CAU Center for Innovation and Entrepreneur Development at (404) 880 - 8945.
Dr. Berger joined The Local Take with Kiplyn Primus on Jazz 91.9 WCLK to share his thoughts on AUC expansion efforts. The CAU Center for Innovation and Entrepreneur Development focuses on building an ecosystem for not just Clark Atlanta University as well, the AUC. Dr. Berger encourages everyone to come out and, visit the innovation center to learn more about running a business and learning a 21st Century trade. The innovation center is not only for students and staff, but an extended invitation to the AUC Community. He states how other programs only focus on the Blue Collar trades, but Berger wants to find ways to connect people in the University and the community that are disconnected from the innovation economy. He talks about how you can make over $60,000 yearly without a college degree by coding. And, how by this time next year there will be over 6,000 jobs open for coding and how expensive it is to bring people from overseas that know how to do just that.
