WCLK Public Affairs is always looking for great community engagement success stories. When we heard about a group that has been feeding homeless people downtown for nearly 30 years, we decided to feature them on the WCLK Public Affairs Block.
Charles Storne is the Coordinator for the Feeding The Homeless Program at the Decatur Seventh Day Adventist Church. He has been leading an effort since 1988 that has resulted in feeding between 800-900 people a fresh hot breakfast every Saturday morning, staffed and funded entirely by volunteers.
Kudos to them. If you want to find out more about this great faith-based effort, click here.
