On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, Mercedes Benz of Buckhead gave a contribution to the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. Grene Baranco, daughter of Mercedes Benz of Buckhead CEO's Gregory and Juanita Baranco, was there to present the check to ACFB's Development Director, Sarah Fonder-Kristy and Sr. Communications Manager, Amy Hudson. Also present was Jazz 91.9 WCLK's General Manager, Wendy Williams.
The donation was given as part of a community engagement effort between Mercedes Benz of Buckhead and Jazz 91.9 WCLK. Since March 2014, the two have collaborated on a community honors program that recognizes organizations that have made a significant difference in the lives of the Atlanta community. Each organization received on-air marketing and promotional benefits on WCLK to help further the mission of the organization. In addition, Mercedes Benz of Buckhead, the sponsor of the program, has made a contribution to each organization.
Clark Atlanta University's Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development and the Atlanta Community Food Bank are the first two organizations to be recognized by the program. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta will be honored in December and the last organization will be announced in March 2015.
