Fly a Kite at the Fourth Annual Atlanta World Kite Festival and Expo this weekend in the Meadow at Piedmont Park!
On Saturday morning, October 24, I speak with the Founder of the Atlanta Kite Festival, Erinn Rowell. She joins me on The Local Take on Jazz 91.9 WCLK to discuss her history with kites and how the festival came into existence.
Kites can be found in many cultures around the world. The festival is a way for families to come together, enjoy fun and activities outdoors with other families.
This year the festival has added several Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) components for children and teens. There will be musical performances, kite building workshops, a kite making contest and vendors with hundreds of kites.
This is guaranteed to be a joyous occasion for the whole family. If you have memories of flying kites from your childhood, come and create new memories with the young people in your life.
