The Local Take Speaks With Charisse Price About National Urban Fellows

The Local Take speaks with Charisse Price about the history of the National Urban Fellows (NUF).  Ms. Price is a member of the fellows class of 2011. She speaks about the history of the program which began in the late 1960's at the height of the Civil Rights Movement. Urban centers across the country struggled to support citizens of color and underserved communities.  The fellows programs was born out of a desire to train leaders with an interest in public policy, governmental affairs and non-profit organizations.

Each year students join forces as National Urban Fellows for a program that takes them from their homes to Baruch College in New York City. The program is designed to develop accomplished professionals of all ethnicities,  people of color and women, particularly. If you're interested in making a change and learning how to interact and engage with government, this might be the program for you.

Charisse Price shares her journey as a National Urban Fellow.  She also invites our listeners to attend their upcoming open house and reception in Atlanta taking place on Tuesday, November 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel in Midtown.
