CAU Now-Lifting Every Voice Features Sept 8 CHAMPS Men's Health Event

CAU Now-Lifting Every Voice on WCLK on August 25 featured a conversation about the CHAMPS 28th Annual Men's Health Summit, taking place on Saturday, September 8 at the Epps Gymnasium on the Clark Atlanta University Campus. Our guests included CHAMPS Founder and CAU Alumnus Dr. James K. Bennett, MD, as well as Dwight Thomas, President of the Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition(GPCC).

CHAMPS stands for Community Health and Men's Promotion Summit. The event is designed to address health disparities in the community and give men the health information they need to live longer, healthier lives. This year's event begins with a Champion's Walk in conjunction with the Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition, beginning at Friendship Church and ending at Epps Gymnasium to kick off the event. There will be free health screenings, disease counseling, the chance to talk one on one with a doctor, and even a community clothes closet and free haircuts.

The Champion's Walk begins at 9am with registration from 7:30am-8:30am. The CHAMPS Men's Health Summit runs from 9:00am-3:00pm. More information is available at champsga.org
