Texas-born keyboardist, producer, and arranger Shaun Martin has spent many fruitful years playing with Kirk Franklin's God's Property, Erykah Badu, and Snarky Puppy. and now he's taking the spotlight with his solo release, 7 Summers. As a product of the fertile musical ground which is the Dallas music scene, Martin has turned into one of the most in demand musicians in popular music. Fresh from playing on BET's Sundays Best in Atlanta, he joined me in our WCLK studios to talk about his legacy, how fear can paralyze musicians and being in Johannesburg when Nelson Mandela passed away.
