October 14: Pharoah Sanders Quartet Plays Rialto Center for the Arts (VIDEO)

The Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State will kick off its new season Jazz, world music and dance with the legendary tenor-man Pharoah Sanders on Saturday, October 14 at 8 p.m.

Sanders possesses one of the most distinctive sounds in Jazz.   Moving between chaos and beauty, his music can be raw and fierce or harmonically rich, and is always spiritually and emotionally expressive. Though he made his name playing free Jazz with Coltrane in the mid-’60s, this musical giant now uses his masterful skills and probing soul to navigate the deep currents of the Jazz tradition.  At 77, Pharoah Sanders proves that age is nothing but a number.

Joining him for this evening of classic music will be William Henderson, Nat Reeves and Joe Farnsworth.  CLICK HERE for tickets!
