AJF presents 'In the Tradition' featuring Archie Shepp and hosted by Dr. Dwight Andrews

The Atlanta Jazz Festival presents the virtual series In the Tradition on Tuesday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. featuring iconic saxophonist Archie Shepp. This episode will be hosted by jazz enthusiast, educator and friend of WCLK---Dr. Dwight Andrews as he talks to Shepp about his illustrious career as a musician, teacher, playwright and pioneer of the "free jazz" movement. 

In the Tradition, is a 30-minute conversation featuring this year's Atlanta Jazz Festival performers being interviewed by local Atlanta jazz and art leaders. Jazz lovers can view the video interviews live on AtlantaFestivals.com, Facebook, YouTube and Channel 26 on select Tuesdays now through August 31, 2021.

And mark your calendars...The Atlanta Jazz Festival returns Labor Day Weekend - September 5 and 6 in historic Piedmont Park. 

Ray Cornelius is one of Atlanta’s newest entertainment writers and media personalities. His arts and entertainment website, www.raycornelius.com spotlights the latest in “positive” African-American celebrity news and was established in 2012.
