Jazz 91.9 WCLK in partnership with America Amplified will host a national community engagement and reporting initiative. Beginning in August, Jazz 91.9 WCLK and America Amplified will present a series of virtual national listening sessions to learn what’s happening in communities across the country ahead of the November election. The sessions are not debates; they are a place to exchange experiences. Kiplyn Primus, host, The Local Take on Jazz 91.9 WCLK will cofaciliate the virtual conversations along with at least one America Amplified team member.
The hour long virtual listening sessions are designed to provide an opportunity to learn and discuss topics like: 1) Our money: What are my concerns when it comes to jobs and our financial futures?; 2) Voting: Is it worth it? Do I have access? Do I trust it?; 3) The American Dream: What does it mean to me? Does it apply to everyone?; 4) My community’s future: What will it look like in six (6) months, in a year? How do we survive?; and, 5) Mental well-being: What am I doing for my anxieties, fears, hopes and dreams?
The sessions will be held in small groups of three (3) to 10 people. What we learn from these sessions will help inform a limited-run national talk show this Fall. For more information about America Amplified, click here.
