#UPFRONT featuring E. Roger Mitchell, Lisa Arrindell, Camille R. Love and Dawnn Lewis

Check out this week's edition of UPFRONT Inside the Entertainment Industry. It features actors Lisa Arrindell and E. Roger Mitchell, Camille Russell Love, executive director of the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and TV and stage diva Dawnn Lewis.

E. Roger Mitchell and Lisa Arrindell are starring as Pastor and First Lady in the upcoming BET+ original movie, Favorite Son. The film focuses on twin brothers in a gospel group who are struggling to find balance of life, love, faith and religion while under the strict rule of their father, who runs a mega church. I caught up with both actors this week to talk about the inspiration behind their roles.

Camille Russell Love, executive director of the Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs is here to chat about their new virtual series In the Tradition. The 30-minute program airs every Tuesday night and features media personalities and influencers talking to this year’s Atlanta Jazz Festival performers. Love also chats about the return of the Atlanta Jazz Festivalto historic Piedmont Park this fall.

Closing out the show is singer, actress and Broadway diva Dawnn Lewis.  She is returning to her theatrical roots this week as part of the Billie Holiday Theater’s Fifth Anniversary virtual edition of its monologue showcase titled 50 in 50: Shattering the Glass Ceiling. The show will feature a star-studded collective of women  who are defying the odds with a curatorial statement by acclaimed playwright Dominique Morisseau. I caught up with Dawnn this week to chat about participating in the show and her other projects.
