Celebrating Women of Color… DeKalb Women Speak is an enriching Women’s History Month Celebration produced by Sisters of Today and Tomorrow in partnership with DeKalb County Superior Court Clerk, takes place Saturday, March 8, 2025, from
11am-2pm on International Women’s Day at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts Center. Sisters of Today and Tomorrow Founder Carla Morrison speaks with us.
Morrison shares that this annual event decided to focus on women leaders in DeKalb County after the historic election of Lorraine Cochran-Johnson. She had always wanted to work with DeKalb County Sheriff Melanie Maddox and this opportunity to bring both women together in conversation was sublime.
Women, young and old of all races and genders are invited to attend. There will be empowerment segments, vendors, and like-minded community members. Morrison speaks about introducing International Women’s Day to women of color. This is a holiday in support of women all over the world.
Morrison’s non-profit Sisters of Today and Tomorrow has worked with young women and girls for over ten years. Some of the young women will be in attendance and making presentations at the Celebrating Women of Color…DeKalb Women Speak.
