UPFRONT featuring DeVon Franklin, Kenny Leon and Chae Stephen

Coming up on this week’s edition of UPFRONT.

I’m talking to Hollywood film mogul, minister, and author DeVon Franklin about his new audible book It Takes a Woman. It puts a spotlight on the matriarchs who rallied around his family following the untimely death of his father. I caught up with him and his mother, Paulette and “The Aunties” to chat about the project and more.

Tony Award-winning Broadway director and CAU alumnus Kenny Leon is back to talk about his new Alliance Theatre production, Trading Places . The show opens this weekend and is a re-imagined version of the popular 80s comedy starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy.

And closing out the show is singer-songwriter Chae Stephen. He’s back to dish about his performance TONIGHT for the Atlanta Jazz Festival. He’s teaming up with Lil John Roberts for a musical tribute to Motown legend Marvin Gaye.

I will also be playing music from Atlanta Jazz Festival performers Kathleen Bertrand, Julie Dexter, and Rhonda Thomas, all throughout the show.
