UPFRONT featuring 'Johnson' stars DeJi LaRay and Thomas Q. Jones + Jazz Vocalist Tony Hightower

Bounce TV

Check out this week's edition of UPFRONT/Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry.

We’re catching up with actors Deji LaRay and Thomas Q. Jones from Bounce TV’s JOHNSON. The dramatic series is back for a new season and they’re here to give us a preview of what’s to come. The 30-minute drama follows the lives of four best friends who just so happen to have the last name “Johnson”. Viewers get a glimpse into their lives as these black men navigate their relationships, careers, and more.

And in the second half of the show, we’re talking to singer-songwriter Tony Hightower. He’s back to chat about his new album LEGACY, which is a tribute to his late mother and jazz vocalist, Theresa Hightower. The 10-song album features his “big band” version of a few R&B classics like Al Green's "Love and Happiness" and Earth, Wind and Fire's "Cant Hide Love". Tony has also written some original new songs including "All to the Good" and my personal favorite, "The Doll".

UPFRONT/Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry is recorded and produced at the WCLK 91.9 studios on the campus of Clark Atlanta University.
