#UPFRONT featuring Tracee Ellis Ross, Ragan Whiteside and CAU Alumnus Jason Mimms
Check out the latest edition of UPFRONT/Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry. It features Emmy-winning actress Tracee Ellis Ross, Jazz Music Award nominee Ragan Whiteside and Cherish the Day actor and CAU alumnus Jason Mimms.
Tracee Ellis Ross is back on primetime in an all new six-part docuseries exploring Black women, beauty and identity titled, The Hair Tales. The project feature stories from executive producer Oprah Winfrey, along with Issa Rae, Chlöe Bailey, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Marsai Martin and Chika. I caught up with Ms. Ross during a recent AAFCA Roundtable Discussion to chat about the importance of this series and the ever evolving relationship she's had with her own hair.
In the second segment, we catch up with actor and CAU alumnus Jason Mimms. He is starring in OWN's popular series Cherish the Day. The beloved drama is back for a second season and Mims is here to discuss his “chance encounter” with show creator Ava DuVernay and how he secured the role of a lifetime.
And closing out the show is my exclusive with Jazz Music Award nominee Ragan Whiteside. The Billboard chart-topping flautist is back to talk about her song that secured her nomination, going back on tour and much more.
UPFRONT/Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry is hosted and produced by Ray Cornelius for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. It is recorded from the campus of Clark Atlanta University.
