We’re talking to the cast of Netflix’s haunting new documentary, Descendants - Joycelyn Davis and Emmett Lewis. The film follows the descendants of the survivors from the Clotilda, the last ship that carried enslaved Africans to the United States, as they reclaim their story.
And in the second half of the show, we’re celebrating all things Whitney Houston in honor of her new biopic, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody. The film opens in theaters everywhere this weekend and chronicles the rise and fall of the pop star, actress and music phenomenon. Joining me are two of the film’s stars---Tamara Tunie and Nafessa Williams.
And in our last segment, we’ll reach back into the UPFRONT vault and re-air our interview with award-winning singer-songwriter Gordon Chambers, who worked with Houston on her holiday album, One Wish. He’ll share a personal story about Whitney that changed his life forever.
We’ll also be playing Whitney’s music clips and much more all throughout the show.
