UPFRONT feat. AAFCA's Gil Robertson, High Museum's Maria Kelly and BET's Black+Iconic

Check out this week's new edition of UPFRONT/Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry.

We're hitting the red carpet for BET’s Inaugural Black+Iconic Soiree, celebrating the biggest and brightest names in the LGBTQ community. Ray Cornelius was there to chat with some of the honorees and celebrity guests for this historic event.

We're also talking to Maria Kelly from Atlanta's High Museum of Art about the Deana Lawson Exhibition NOW in its final weeks. Her glossy images challenge conventional representations of Black identities and bodies and features an array of staged scenes that have audiences coming back for more. Kelly is the Assistant Curator of Photography and gives us all the behind-the-scenes details and more.

And finally, Gil Robertson, President of the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) is here to talk about this year’s AAFCA Awards. Winners were announced this week with awards going to The Woman King, Danielle Deadwyler, Jeremy Pope, Angela Bassett, Glass Onion and more. Winners and Special Honorees will be celebrated on March 1 at the Beverly Wilshire in Los Angeles.

UPFRONT/Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry is produced and hosted by Ray Cornelius for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. The show re-airs on SiriusXM HBCU Channel 142. It is also presented by the High Museum of Art.
