Our celebration of Black Music Month continues with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Alvin Garrett. The in-demand performer is here to chat about his new single and writing for some of the biggest names in music.
And in the second half of the show, we’re talking to legendary music executive, radio producer and author Dr. LaJoyce Brookshire. She's back to talk about her new book with Michelle Joyce titled Women behind the Mic: Curators of Pop Culture- Volume One. The book is a collection of stories from 22 veteran Executives who were the engines behind the most iconic artists of all time. They are the industry "Sheroes" who quietly toiled in the trenches curating what is known as Hip Hop and Pop Culture today. She’ll also talk about their upcoming Atlanta engagement featuring some of the sisters from the book.
