UPFRONT talks the 'Hollywood Strike' with Keith Arthur Bolden, Kathleen Bertrand, and Gil Robertson

Check out this week's edition of UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry. We’re talking about the Hollywood Strike that is taking place between the SAG-AFTRA and some of Hollywood’s biggest studios and entertainment companies like Netflix, Paramount, Warner Bros. and Disney.

Some of the most iconic names in TV and film have been hitting the Hollywood pavement and fighting for a livable wage and protections against the existential threat artificial intelligence or AI poses to their careers. This actor’s protest comes on the heels of the Writers Guild of America striking against The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) over higher wages and better compensation. How long will this last? How is this affecting Georgia’s billion dollar TV and film industry?

Here to chat with me about this is TV, film and stage actor and Spelman College Theatre Professor Keith Arthur Bolden, Executive Producer of the BronzeLens Film Festival Kathleen Bertrand and Co-Founder and current president of the African American Film Critics Association, Gil Robertson.

UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry is produced and hosted by Ray Cornelius for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. The show re-airs on SiriusXM HBCU Channel 142 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 6:30pm EST. It is also presented by the High Museum of Art.
