This week's UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry is one for the history books. It features host Ray Cornelius in conversation with the women behind the one-woman play Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed and Unbowed. The show begins October 30 through November 4 at Atlanta’s Synchronicity Theatre.
The show’s producer and co-director Stephaniyemiya Ingram is here along with the show’s leading lady, writer and director Ingrid Griffith. Unbossed and Unbowed, chronicles the life and extraordinary career of Shirley Chisholm, who in 1972 became the first black woman to run for President of the United States. The women will also talk about their divine connection to Ms. Chisholm and why this show is more relevant than ever before.
Ray will also be playing songs from Aretha Franklin’s classic 1972 Gospel Album AMAZING GRACE all throughout the show.
UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry is produced and hosted by Ray Cornelius for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. The show re-airs on SiriusXM HBCU Channel 142 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 6:30pm EST.
