Check out this week's edition of UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry. Host Ray Cornelius is saluting Oscar-nominated actor, playwright, activist and fashion icon Colman Domingo. The award-winning superstar is celebrating a historic victory this week as one of the co-chairs for the coveted Met Gala.
The "Super Bowl" of fashion was held on Monday, May 5th and raised $31 million dollars for the MET's costume institute. This year’s theme: Superfine: Tailoring Black Style paid homage to Black Dandyism, a cultural movement where Black individuals use fashion, particularly tailored looks, as a form of self-expression, identity and dignity.
Ray will revisit his 2018 conversation with Colman when he stopped through Atlanta to promote the True Colors Production of his play, DOT and the Broadway smash Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.
UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry is produced and hosted by Ray Cornelius for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. The show re-airs on SiriusXM HBCU Channel 142 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 6:30pm EST.
