The Local Take Talks HBCU African Homecoming Ghana

Mar 8, 2020

This week on The Local Take I speak with Kwabena Boateng about the launch of the HBCU African Homecoming Ghana program.  This is an  initiative of Atlanta based African Diaspora Nation

This program is set up as an exchange between HBCU students, educators, corporate and community leaders from the USA in dialog and partnership with the same groups from the continent.  Boateng is taking a long view in hopes of exploiting the largest free market zone between the countries of Africa.

The Local Take: Senegalese Entrepreneur Fatima Ba

Nov 23, 2019

One in our series of interviews with the 2019 Clark Atlanta University School of Business Young African Leadership Initiative - Mandela Fellows. This highly competitive program, which began under the Obama Administration in 2009 brings the brightest young leaders from across the continent for an eight week intensive study program around entrepreneurship at Clark Atlanta University.  Fatima Ba from Senegal West Africa is a fashion designer.

For the last five years The Local Take has brought fellows in the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) to speak with us about the program and their countries.  Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK I spoke with three fellows from the Clark Atlanta University program:  Jean Jacques Abe of Ivory Coast, Diana Dwanah of Liberia and Linda Alwedo of Uganda.
