Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK remembers our dear friend and colleague Glen Simmonds and shares the grief of his wife, family and friends. Here is visitation and memorial service information for people in the community who want to participate:

Saturday on The Local Take on WCLK I spoke with Glen Simmonds, founder of the Atlanta Caribbean Jerk Festival taking place on Sunday, September 2nd at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers.  Glen explains why this event is a must for anyone who appreciates the culture of the Caribbean. In fact if you didn't get to the Caribbean this year, a short trip to the Atlanta Caribbean Jerk Festival will make you think you're in the islands.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Jazz 91.9 WCLK tent during Memorial Day Weekend at the 41st Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival at Piedmont Park.  We did our no rain dance and it worked. Everyone enjoyed great performances at the Contemporary Stage which included : Terri Lyne Carrington and Social Science; Jazzmeia Horn; and, Cory Henry and The Funk Apostles, among others.
