Come one, come all--I'll be hosting Sunday, August 21, 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Red Oak Church located at 4710 Washington Road in College Park, GA as Dr. Bill Freeman presents A Jazz Concert “The Music Of A Man.”   In 1973, Dr. Bill Freeman left the music scene to answer the call of ministry and the Gospel, but his passion for Jazz has always remained. Influenced by Pianists Art Tatum and Earl “Bud” Powell,  Dr. Freeman enjoys playing multiple instruments including guitar, organ, saxophone and piano.

He has worked in the big bands of Earl Bostic, Lionel Hampton, Harry “Sweets” Edison and has accompanied Vocalists Diana Washington, Ruth Brown and Arthur Prysock, among others.

Joining Dr. Freeman will be Joe Jennings, sax player and former Spelman College Jazz Ensemble Director; Kevin Dewberry on drums; Rita Van Barrett, vocalist and graduate of Spelman; Vocalist and Motivational Speaker, Reginald Carl Dancil;  and, Edwin Williams, a bassist who released his first solo project “Chill With Me” in April 2015. You can find out more about First Baptist Red Oak Church by clicking here.

There is no charge for admission and the public is welcome to join me for this evening of inspiration and Jazz music.
