The City of Atlanta's Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs has released the signature artwork for the 48th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival. "Streetlight Jazz" was created by Vernicia Respres and will be featured on the Festival's poster and t-shirts and is available for purchase at Piedmont Park May 24-26.
“The colorful artwork depicts a saxophonist in the spotlight showcasing the vibrant energy of live jazz performances,” says Adriane Jefferson, Executive Director.
As a lifelong creative, Vernicia Respres understands the power of representation and access to the arts. In 2018, she founded BRUSHED, a luxury art studio and gallery, to provide a beautiful, inclusive space for guests to learn, shop, create, and host private events. Over the years, she has expanded her reach by offering virtual and live art services, making a lasting impact well beyond Georgia.
Her evolution allowed Vernicia to thrive during the pandemic, connecting with isolated and underserved communities through art. Since then, she has become a renowned fine artist, been selected for a Netflix show, and launched her own streaming network, Brushed TV.
Vernicia specializes in fine art services, including live wedding painting, and curated art for tradeshows and commercial spaces. She has also collaborated with churches, nonprofits, and businesses to provide custom artwork and community-based art initiatives. Her work extends to interior design partnerships and helping businesses and event spaces elevate their environments with curated art collections.
