Althea Rene’s latest single Synergy, featuring Jordan Love is just that: two forces coming together to create an effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. Right away, this song hits you with a burst of Soul infused Jazz that is reminiscent of a lost Sade session outtake, and Motor City Flutist Althea Rene lets her flute do all the talking. The way that Rene’s flute embodies that of a soulful Jazz singer is what makes this track golden. No wonder why legendary Jazz saxophonist and flutist Najee refers to her as the Maceo Parker of the flute. Synergy is the electrifying follow up single to Althea Rene’s ep, 18 Karat that she released back in May.
