October 16: Joshua Redman Brings Contemporary Jazz to the Rialto Center

Jazz fans won’t want to miss an extraordinary evening with one of the most acclaimed saxophonists of his generation. Joshua Redman takes the stage at the Rialto Center for the Arts on Friday, October 16 at 8 p.m.

A 10-time Grammy nominee and winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition, Redman has built a celebrated career spanning more than three decades. With nearly two dozen albums to his credit, he is known for a distinctive approach that bridges jazz tradition with innovation, technical mastery and deeply expressive improvisation.

The son of acclaimed saxophonist Dewey Redman, Joshua Redman emerged as a major force on the international jazz scene after winning the Monk Competition early in his career. Over the years, he has collaborated with an impressive roster of artists across jazz and beyond, continuing to expand the possibilities of the saxophone while remaining deeply connected to the tradition.

Redman’s Atlanta appearance is part of the Rialto Center for the Arts’ 30th Season, celebrating three decades of presenting exceptional artists and unforgettable performances in downtown Atlanta.
