This workshop seeks to reframe the boundaries of genre, and discover hybrid writing forms that blur and bend. Can a poem also be a narrative? Can flash be a lyric? What ways can we break beyond the confines of traditional poetry and prose? In this four-week workshop, participants will learn to play and experiment while studying writers that incorporate multiple forms within one piece. How can we reinvent traditional forms and create hybrid / experimental possibilities? We'll break binaries while exploring Tiana Clark, Maggie Nelson, Zadie Smith, Elizabeth Acevedo, and more.
