Free Educator Workshop with Dr. David Childs and Karyn Parsons

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights invites educators, homeschool families, parents, and community members to a free professional learning workshop.

Led by acclaimed professor, author, and filmmaker Dr. David Childs and actor, author, and activist Karyn Parsons (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sweet Blackberry), this interactive workshop explores the intersection of civil rights history, storytelling, literature, and social justice education.

Participants will engage with multicultural literature and film, take part in guided discussions and writing activities, and examine practical approaches for fostering meaningful conversations about history, identity, and equity.

Attendees will leave with classroom-ready resources, lesson plans, historical research, and culturally responsive teaching strategies that can be immediately applied in educational and community settings.
