Aug 27 Wednesday
We’re not waiting for permission — we’re creating space, telling our stories, and taking our seat at the table.
The Table Is Ours is a bold short film showcase presented by On Set ATL, featuring the premieres of four powerful new works from some of the Southeast’s most visionary emerging filmmakers. These are stories rooted in truth, crafted with heart, and driven by the desire to be seen — on our own terms.
This event brings together alumni from previous On Set ATL screenings who have continued to refine their voices and push boundaries in the independent film space. Each short is a testament to the strength of creative ownership and the magic that happens when artists stop waiting and start building.
Featured Films:
8 Count by Rai’Vaun — A father and son bond through dance as they navigate grief and healing.
Hurry Up & Wait by Jamila C. Gray — A chaotic, comedic take on a morning gone wrong and a life that won’t slow down.
Weirdo by Creed Smith — A layered exploration of identity, perception, and the power of owning your narrative.
Breathe by Mya-Breyana Morton — A heartfelt dramedy about anxiety, self-doubt, and taking risks that could change everything.
Expect an evening filled with cinematic brilliance, conversation, community, and a powerful reminder: we don’t need a seat at someone else’s table — we’ve built our own.
Join us for an unforgettable night of storytelling, connection, and creative celebration.
