The League of Women Voters Reminds You To Register To Vote By April 26!
Georgia and Atlanta will hold a General Primary Election, Non-Partisan General Election, and a Special Runoff Election on Tuesday, May 24. The deadline to register to vote in the May 24 election is Tuesday, April 26th. Saturday morning at 7am on The Local Take on WCLK I'll talk with Karlise Grier from The League of Women Voters Atlanta-Fulton County. They are celebrating 95 years in support of informed voting. When women were granted the right to vote, the League of Women Voters was formed to educate women about their rights and inform them about candidates and legislation. Today The League of Women Voters is still very active, providing registration opportunities and election guides to all people. On Tuesday, April 26 the league will host a candidate forum a voter registration drive at Georgia State University. Judicial candidates in Atlanta and Fulton County will be on hand to speak and answer questions. The League of Women Voters Atlanta-Fulton County reminds us that democracy is not a spectator sport. Note for already registered voters: Early voting begins on May 2.
