November 26: Dr. Judi The People's Advocate Talks About Societal Pressure On Athletes

Dr. Judi Crocker Billingsley

Join Dr. Judi Crocker-Billingsley Saturday morning at 7:30am on WCLK as she takes a look at the societal pressures and coping mechanisms required by athletes in our society. While sports is generally regarded as an activity that can improve those participating, athletes are increasingly exploited at the upper echelons of competition, particularly at the collegiate and professional levels. Concurrent with a recent national conference held at Clark Atlanta University, Dr. Judi talks with Dr. Emmett Gill and Dr. Matthew Moore with the National Alliance of Social Workers In Sports(NASWIS), whose mission is to promote individual and community well-being through partnerships between the profession of social work and the field of athletics.

More information about NASWIS is available here.
