This week we speak with Marshall Taggart, president of the Clark Atlanta University National Alumni Association about the upcoming Sprit of Greatness Awards.
The Spirit of Greatness Awards, is presented by Clark Atlanta University and the Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association. This awards ceremony was established to honor Clark Atlanta University alumni and pioneers who have made a positive impact on the nation.
This year's event is taking place on Saturday, March 18 the reception begins at the 6:00 p.m. and the awards ceremony is at 7:30 p.m. at the Omni Atlanta Hotel.
Honorees this year include Kenya Barris (CAU class of 1996), creator of the hit sitcom Blackish and Horace Henry (CAU class of 1971), photographer and author of One Day in January and others.
The gala is CAUAA's signature event that raises funds for Clark Atlanta University's Scholarship Fund. The event has raised over $1.5 million for CAU students since its inception.
