The Local Take speaks with Seandell Wright of LifeSouth Community Blood Centerabout the urgent need for blood donors.
Summer is historically a slow time for blood donations, and our blood centers have all hit a critical point for blood donors. Patients and hospitals are still dependent on blood donors to help save lives. A pint of blood can assist 3 people with life saving materials.
All blood types are needed, if you can't donate maybe you can host a blood drive at your community center or place of work. Donors must be weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. If you are 16 or 17 you can donate with parental permission. You will also need a photo ID.
If you are able to donate, please contact LifeSouth Community Blood Centersor visit their Atlanta location at 4891 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
