Jonathan Butler Joins Jay Edwards On Jazz Tones

Jonathan Butler is in town May 22 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center as part of the Jazz Roots Series, performing with David Sanborn.  The South African guitar and vocal artist is known across the globe for his music and his spirituality.

Jay Edwards will talk with Butler about his music, his influences, and what fans and newbies alike can expect at the May 22 performance.

From Jay:  Jonathan Butler is a World Class Citizen from  Cape Town South Africa residing in California. His musicianship was cultivated by being exposed to all kinds of rhythms, beats and harmonies at age 7.

Traveling with a circus at that early stage of life set a precedent for Jonathan's future.  My intimate conversation about his life revealed the fact not being formally educated did not hinder him from being a world class performer.

Branded as a vocalist and guitarist with romantic, R&B and spiritual lyrics has captured the world's attention.   He has released 25 records and is a multiple Grammy nominee.  Butler is sensitive to society's  ills and global dysfunctions.

Jonathan Butler's new release " Grace and Mercy" expresses his Christian roots and his musical versatility.

He will appear at Cobb Energy Center May 22,2013 with David Sanborn and provide not only entertainment but give a inspiring performance.
