Sunday, May 16 on Jazz Tones at 4:00 p.m., I'll be joined by Bob Mintzer. Mintzer is a saxophonist, composer, arranger and educator; and, is a founding member of the Yellowjackets. He writes for orchestras, concert bands and big bands. Mintzer has over 200 charts to his credit. Bob is proponent of Jazz education and has written over 20 books as part of the curriculum worldwide. Some of his accomplishments include written works for: The National Symphony Orchestra, Metropole Orchestra of The Netherlands and the WDR Big Band in Cologne. As an instrumentalist, Bob has worked with legends including Art Blakey, Randy Brecker, Milton Nascimento, GRP All Star Band and countless others. The Yellowjackets new release on Mack Avenue is Cohearance.
