Bob Cranshaw

It is with immense sadness that we, the Jazz 91.9 WCLK family, send our condolences to the family of legendary Jazz Bassist, Bob Cranshaw.   He passed away November 2, 2016.   I was extremely blessed to be able to speak to the man on the air about his life and legacy. His work with legends like Thelonious Monk, Lee Morgan, Ella Fitzgerald, Sonny Rollins and so many more, simply can't be ignored by anyone who claims to be a fan of this music.  Click here to listen to the interview I did with him when he visited WCLK in 2015.   Try to grasp the magnitude of his reach in not only the world of Jazz but even on shows like The Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact and Sesame Street.  Rest in peace to a true legend.
