Planet D Nonet, or PD9, bill themselves as 'Detroit's down and dirty swing band. They specialize in Swing, Blues and space age interpretations of great American Classic Jazz. On their latest release on Detroit Music Factory, A Salute To Strayhorn, they feature musical selections associated with the Composer, Lyricist, Arranger and Pianist, Billy Strayhorn. Srayhorn is best known for his celebrated musical collaborations with Duke Ellington.
