WCLK Spotlight Artist: Gerald Albright

Cannonball Saxophones

Gerald Albright is a Jazz saxophonist born in South Central Los Angeles in 1957. He worked as studio musician in the 1980s before joining Patrice Rushen’s touring band. He toured extensively with artists including Anita Baker, Phil Collins, Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, Jeff Lorber, Teena Marie, Will Downing, Jonathan Butler, Chaka Khan, Hugh Masekela, and Rachelle Ferrell.

Albright joined with the late George Duke to Play WCLK’s 39th Anniversary Concert in 2013 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. 

Gerald Albright plays Cannonball Saxophones. His daughter Selina Albright is a Jazz and R&B singer of note, they appear together occasionally at “Daddy-Daughter” performances.
