The Royal Arts Gala February 18th Honors Community Leaders Empowering the Next Generation

The Royal Arts Charity Gala honors community members who are empowering the next generation of artists.
Royal Arts Charity Gala
The Royal Arts Charity Gala honors community members who are empowering the next generation of artists.

The Royal Arts Charity Gala will be hosted by WCLK’s own Rick Joyner, host of Serenade to the City, and will take place on February 18th at the Egyptian Ballroom at the Fox Theatre. This annual charity event aims to raise funds for entertainment projects that reflect young people in urban and rural communities. Production assistant Kenya Mitchell and honoree Raeha Kim joined us to discuss the event.

Mitchell promises a night to remember with iconic performances and prominent honorees. The organization will celebrate community members empowering the next generation of artists. They focused on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Raehma Kim, founder of the Millennial Chamber of Commerce, is one of this year’s honorees.

Kim speaks about her work with young people and educating them on the creative economy. She speaks about being advised away from artistic endeavors and attending law school. She has since been able to tap into her creative spirit with work in film, production, and other artistic work. She works with young people to examine creative opportunities with a look behind the camera and how the creative economy works.
