Black Southern Belle, known as BSB Media, is hosting an event in Atlanta on Wednesday, November 12th, focused on The Kitchen - Heritage at Home Designing with Southern Entertaining in Mind. Founder Michiel Perry joins us to share.
I mention that in one of my first conversations with Perry about the Black Southern Belle platform, she spoke about flowers at Southern weddings, including hydrangea, lilies, and magnolias as opposed to roses and chrysanthemums in other regions.
The upcoming event will focus on the kitchen, and Perry mentions the ways that Black Southern Belle kitchen may differ from the mainstream. This includes the container with bacon fat, the gumbo pot, and favorite skillets that get passed down. These things are so much a part of our everyday culture that it is easy to take them for granted.
