DeBarr-Johnson speaks to embracing her childhood ability to argue as one of the reasons she entered the profession of law. She graduated from Benedict College in South Carolina and headed to the Howard University Law School. She shares that like most people she knew attorneys as trail or criminal lawyers, but in studying law, she learned about many other disciplines including property and tax law.
After graduating, DeBarr-Johnson opened an general practice firm until a fateful conversation led her to estate law. She shares that she enjoys working with people to help protect their legacy including minors. She goes on to explain that we should all have five legal documents in place, including a Will, Financial Power of Attorney and HIPPA Authorization.
