CAREGIVERS Relax is coming to Fulton County! We’ll be at the Roswell Adult Senior Center on Saturday, June 13th, from 1pm - 4pm. We speak with healthcare, insurance, and financial professionals to provide solutions. While there are many options when it comes to financial solutions, we encourage folks to do their own research. Today I speak with our CAREGIVERS Relax sponsor from New York Life, Craig Jackson. We speak about the challenges and solutions needed for families in transition.
Jackson explains that most of his work involves educating folks about financial planning. He emphasizes that we know two things are guaranteed “death and taxes.” He goes on to say that the present is always the best time to plan for your future.
Everyone’s timeline, risk tolerance and objectives are different but they also provide you with solutions available to plan and protect your assets. Jackson emphasizes that we need to know our income bracket, what it takes to manage our lifestyle. I asked if men and women need life insurance coverage and while women tend to outlive men, both need to have equal protection.
I asked Jackson to provide us with his top three considerations for insurance. Jackson speaks to Reliability being a top concern. You want to be sure that your that your financial partner will be there in the next 40 - 50 years. Ownership is another concern. Many folks have insurance through their employers, but if something happens to your company this may not be the best way to secure coverage. Finally, Permanency which mean learning about term and permanent insurance investments.
