The Rialto Center of the Arts launches its new season as they move from a series model to a membership model. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta in the historic Fairlie-Poplar district, the theatre was acquired by Georgia State University in 1993. They feature some of the best Indigenous and international jazz, world music, dance, and even feature films. Amy Reid, the director, joins us to speak about their work and a few upcoming concerts that we do not want to miss.
I asked Reid about the new season and membership model. She shares that the new membership model offers more discounts, flexibility, customization, and even complimentary tickets. Additionally, she shares that for jazz lovers, a few in the 2026 line-up include Béla Fleck, Arturo Sandoval, Take 6, and Atlanta’s own Arrested Development, collectively with 34 Grammy Awards from 103 nominations. She shares how they curate the season each year.
The “Feed Your Senses” monthly free lunchtime jazz events are great if you’re in the area. You can bring your lunch and enjoy music, dance, and great information right in the lobby. Music students at GSU also grace the state at the Rialto for performances.
The facility also received a refresh in 2023, making this a great time to get a membership and enjoy the happenings at the Rialto!
