We’re still talking about voting but today I’m sharing the voices of two young voters. Kaylee Edwards will vote for the first time and Joeuana Byers is a junior at Clark Atlanta. I asked both young women to share their thoughts about voting.
Both young women remembers learning about voting in elementary school when teachers would hold mock elections with stickers and other items mimicking what adults would do when they voted.
I asked about their first experiences voting. Ms. Edwards will vote for the first time on November 3rd and she shared her excited. Ms. Byers shared her voting experience and her expectations about voting in the Midterms.
When asked what they wanted the older generation to know about them they mentioned that life is not as easy for them as their elders imagine. They are dealing with a lot. They asked for grace and guidance as they navigate society and all that living in our country entails.
These young ladies provide hope, they are attuned, involved and engaged with their community.
