Atlanta Falcons Beatwriter(and friend of WCLK and Clark Atlanta University) Darryl Ledbetter joined me to talk about the important issues--Falcons football, the start of the NFL season, and the player protests. We discuss the upcoming football season and the ongoing controversy surrounding the NFL Players and their protests during the National Anthem before games. Protests of police shootings of unarmed African Americans begun by a number of players, including Colin Kaepernick, have turned into a larger political issue.

Ledbetter explains the protests, and the debacle surrounding the NFL owners decision to implement  fines and punishments to players who exercise their right to protest.  We also talk about the lack of African American baseball players and how that challenge is being addressed by the league. To wrap up I ask Ledbetter to provide his opinion on the Atlanta Falcons going to the 2019 Super Bowl being hosted by Atlanta in February.
