Brooke Alford: Shine

Brooke Alford

When you think of the violin you may immediately think of orchestras and symphonies, yet the violin has been a very prominent instrument in the world of Jazz. Artists like Regina Carter, Noel Pointer, Eddie South and the first lady of Jazz Violin Ginger Smock among others have shown just how Jazzy you can get with a violin. One of today’s standout Jazz violinists is Brooke Alford, who returns to the radio airwaves with her latest single appropriately called Shine. This Aberdeen North Carolina native now calling Atlanta home is back and sounding great. Brooke’s 2018 Closer was a fan favorite of listeners to WCLK and this programmer believes Shine is the right song for audiences to get re-acquainted with this talented musician. Brooke has shared the stage with of the biggest names in music ranging from R&B, pop, gospel and of course Jazz. Shine is an upbeat song with just the right tempo to keep the listener engaged but doesn’t hit you over the head by being over-produced. Brooke is at the top of her game on this one. I’m sure you’ll be beaming as you listen to Shine by Alford Brooke, on the only place to hear Classic, Cool, Contemporary Jazz, Jazz 91. 9 WCLK Atlanta’s Jazz Station.
