Support for Jazz 91.9 WCLK comes from Primavera Cleaners, Black-owned operator of the longtime community-based Mac-N-Jac Cleaners. They continue the tradition of excellence Atlantans have come to expect since 1947. This Black History Month, they pay tribute to Thomas L. Jennings, Black inventor of the very first dry-cleaning process in America. Born in New York City, not only was Jennings an inventor, he was a tradesman, entrepreneur, and a prominent civil rights activist in his day. In 1821, he had the distinction of becoming the first African American patent-holder in history when his patent was granted for his novel method of dry-cleaning. You can read more about Thomas L. Jennings here.

This Black History Month, Primavera Cleaners and dry-cleaners across the nation stand on the shoulders of this great man. Today, Primavera Cleaners and Mac-N-Jac Cleaners not only offer professional dry-cleaning but their services include professional alterations, shoe repair services, wash and fold, as well as pick-up and delivery services for qualifying orders. There are three locations of Primavera Cleaners and Mac-N-Jac Cleaners three Atlanta locations available to serve the community. More information is available at www.primaveracleaners.com.
